Welcome to the
website of Greek National Committee of World Organisation
for Early Childhood Education (O.M.E.P.).
In Greece O.M.E.P. officially was founded as early
as 1958 and since then has demonstrated a multifarious
work. The fifth World Assembly was held in Athens
in 1956. Its theme was “The importance of the
first year in a child’s of life” and this
meeting is considered to be among the most important
ones. Moreover, the European meeting was held in Athens
in 1995.
In Greece apart from the National Committee there
are nine Regional Committees. We have almost 2000
members, mainly teachers of pre-primary education.
